Recently IGN Podcast Unlocked (a Podcast all about Xbox) had a Interview with Phil Spencer VP of Microsoft Game Studios talks about the Future of Gears of War making it’s way to the Xbox One, Episode 119 Gears of War Segment starts at 1:20:53

“I want to find a great Gears game, and I thought we did a good job with Judgment but I don’t think it hit the level of quality we saw in the previous games,” Spencer said on the latest episode of Podcast Unlocked. “I think review scores showed that, sales showed that, and I really think that we need to take a step back with Epic and think about — I don’t want to call it a reboot, because it’s kind of an overused term, but think about where that franchise goes and how to expand what it was.”

Spencer said he does speak with Epic often and he would “love to have that conversation,” but noted Epic is busy and has indicated that “Gears is kind of on the backburner for them.” He added that Epic is “the right team to work on that game,” but didn’t rule out the possibility of turning to a new developer. “Trying to find another team to do that game I think is possible, but you’d want to make sure you did that very carefully along with them to make sure we have the right thing in place.”

And before any new Gears game is made, there are aspects of the franchise that need to be addressed. “I think that franchise would need to be, not reworked, but you need to think about how to expand the universe and what people are doing — maybe take it more gritty, I don’t know,” he explained. “But you’d want to do something with it because I think it did kind of run its course on 360. …It doesn’t quite have the story arc of a thing like Halo or something, at least the way it’s played out in the games, and I think we’d want to pump that up.” Via IGN

My Thoughts on how i want Gears of War to be on Xbox One

For Story & Multiplayer

It can’t be a Pendium Wars Game it has to be Cog vs. Locust if i have another Gears of War and it has Human vs Human i would rent it as a Fanboy of Gears of War it needs to be Human vs Locust.

I don’t Really want a Reboot of Gears of War 1, Gears of War 2 and Gears of War 3.
I loved the Story in Gears of War 1 & 2, the Story was good in Gears of War 3 but it felt more like a Novel than a Video Game, i don’t want the Story from Gears 1,2 and 3 to be ruining by a reboot.

Have a Option to have DBNO Down But Not Out turn On/Off with no DBNO it felt like Call of Duty/Battlefield/Halo if i wanted no DBNO i’ll play more of those games.

Bring back Horde Mode: when you have other games copy Horde mode into other games you know you have a great game type.

No Jump Down Game play: It felt so stupid by trying to get away from a gun fight and jumping off a ledge with little fall damage.

Symmetrical Maps: The Maps in GoW 1.2.3 work so well because they were small and even but in Judgment Epic went with Asymmetrical maps which is big & tall for jumping of ledges/buildings.

Focus more on the Gnasher than Rifles in Multiplayer: The Hardcore Gears players use the Gnasher that MP is focus on in Multiplayer Gears of War 3/Judgment was more Rifle heavy well they do cater to Call of Duty for some reason, they play for like a month then move back to Call of Duty, Focus on the true fans of Gears of War not other Shooters. Hate to say it Gears of War numbers will Never beat Call of Duty.

Characters/Msps: Have a lot of Characters and Maps in Judgment had like 10 character & close to 20 maps which are way less than Gears 1,2,3.

Let me know what you want in a Gears of War for Xbox One if there is one.
